At Aldebaran, we are committed to supporting people in living in ways that reflect who they truly are, and to connecting their strengths, individuality, and potential with society.

One of these initiatives is Y’Caring, which draws on experience in healthcare and social care to support people in living life on their own terms. Alongside this work, we also develop art projects that bring each individual’s unique expression and creativity to a wider audience.

One of these art projects is dedicated to introducing the work of artist Kazuhiro Asaumi to audiences in Japan and around the world.

Through drawing, he creates a world of lines that is entirely his own.

ABOUT & STORY

Kazuhiro Asaumi is a Japanese artist born in Tokyo in 1977. His art does not begin with a plan or a finished image in his mind. He simply starts to draw, allowing his hand and the lines to lead the way.

Asaumi began drawing seriously during a difficult period in his life, when he was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital. Drawing gradually became more than an act of creation. It became something that supported him — a way to express what could not always be put into words, and a way to keep moving forward.

Today, while continuing his professional work in the IT field, Asaumi continues to create. Faces, hands, eyes and unexpected figures emerge spontaneously from his lines, often revealing themselves only after a work is complete.

For Asaumi, drawing is not simply about making art. It is part of living itself.

浅海和広について

浅海和広は、1977年東京生まれのアーティストです。
あらかじめ完成形を思い描いて描くのではなく、一本の線から始まり、その線に導かれるように作品が生まれていきます。

人生の苦しい時期に本格的に絵を描き始め、描くことは次第に、自分を支え、言葉にならないものを表現する大切な手段になりました。

現在も仕事を続けながら制作活動を行い、線の中から現れる顔や手、目、さまざまな形を通して、独自の世界を描き続けています。

HIS ART

Asaumi does not decide in advance what he is going to draw. He begins with a line and follows wherever it leads.

A curve may become a face. A finger may transform into a figure. Eyes, hands, profiles and unexpected forms appear, overlap and connect, gradually filling the page with a world of their own.

Many of these figures are not intentionally created. Asaumi himself often discovers them only after the work is complete. Looking at one of his drawings can feel like entering a visual puzzle — the longer you look, the more faces and stories begin to emerge.

Each work is created directly by hand, without a preliminary sketch. The result is a spontaneous visual language that belongs entirely to Kazuhiro Asaumi.

浅海は「何を描くか」を決めてから描き始めることはありません。

一本の線が顔になり、指が人の姿になり、目や手、横顔などが重なり合いながら、ひとつの世界を形づくっていきます。

描き終えたあとに、本人自身が初めてそこに現れた人物や形に気づくこともあります。

見る人によって、見つける顔や物語が違う。
それも浅海和広の作品の大きな魅力です。
